Brockwell Park is a large open park based between Brixton, Herne Hill and Tulse Hill in Lambeth which is suited to all the family (we even had CS first birthday here during the summer) and is easily accessible on foot from the main stations as well as plenty of bus stops around it.
Its a great space for the kids to explore whether it be crawling, walking , riding , carrying or being pushed around! The park has various wildlife about the space including grey squirrels, ducks geese, a heron and the occasional green parrot (usually in the tallest tree between the tennis courts and walled garden. In the community greenhouse they even have their own beehives.
CS favourite place though are the sand pits! Whether it be the sandpits in the sand and water play area (which is a play area next to the wall garden). CS loves to explore the sand and the water jets, making his water trails behind him!
The larger play park (next to the One O'clock club ran by Effra Early Years centre which also runs free sessions) is aimed for all ages and abilities. There are separate play areas if you prefer to use equipment aimed for your child's age. CS at the moment though prefers to climb up the slides rather than sliding down them!
